Auto Accident & Whiplash

Auto accidents have a tendency to not only cause trauma from the incident, but also chronic pain. Many of our patients come to us after the accident because, regardless of painkillers they are taking, the pain just won’t subside. The patients that visit us at Robinson Family Chiropractic after an accident most often describe the following injuries: whiplash, neck pain, back pain, and occasionally pain or discomfort in other areas of the body due to the impact. Sometimes however, the effects of an impact can hide for days, weeks, even years. Therefore even if our patients don’t feel pain after the accident, we still ask them to see us for a check up to mitigate the pain and any long term residual effects from the impact.

Whiplash is one of the most common injuries patients experience after an automobile accident. It is also one of the more common injuries that can hide and wreak havoc on your body long term. Whiplash occurs when the head is whipped forward, then backward in a rapid motion. It can cause severe headaches, neck, shoulder, and back pain. Along with other chiropractic techniques and diagnostic tools, we use massage and spinal adjustments to realign the spine and help massage connective tissues in the upper back and neck.

If you've been involved in an auto accident, be sure to schedule an appointment with Dr. Richard Robinson and Dr. Nicolas Cone at our Rolling Meadows or Algonquin offices to discuss possible auto accident treatments.

Massage Therapy

Here at Robinson Family Chiropractic, we believe in providing our patients with the best services available. One of these is massage therapy. Chiropractic massage therapy benefits our patients in multiple ways, including helping with musculoskeletal efficiency, reducing physical and emotional stress, and improving overall health. Chiropractic care in general is great for balancing the body’s nervous system and improving health, and chiropractic massage is a large part of the process.

Dr. Richard Robinson has put together a highly skilled team of massage therapists to provide with the most effective care. Massage therapy has a multitude of benefits: removing toxins in the body, increasing circulation, giving patients better flexibility in connective tissues and muscles, and helping with muscle spasms from certain physical injuries. Patients choose massage therapy in our chiropractic office for many reasons, whether it is ongoing pain after an injury or from physical stress from contact sports. Other patients visit us following a surgical procedure to promote swift healing through chiropractic massage therapy.

Aside from helping the body’s systems, massage therapy is also advantageous for patients dealing with sleep disorders, eating disorders, diabetes or high blood pressure and cholesterol.
